Painting with light
I think this abstracted image looks really weird and we don't know what it is, but I think it looks like a slinky that you would push down the stairs. In the middle of the image there is a bright light that looks as if it shouldn't even be there. The helicopter in the bottom left corner of the image makes you think the swirls are loads of little helicopter blades. The photographer would have achieved this effect by attaching lights to the helicopters blades .
These photos were my very first painting with light images that I took and were just a practice to get use to the light painting effect. They were all fight scenes and all images could to with lots of improvements. These images will help me learn from my mistakes and produce better final images. Some of the mistakes made for example - out of focus images and in some of the photos the person painting the light was caught in the image. To fix this I would ensure next time the person using the light wear black cloths and make sure the flash isn't pressed to early.
After my very first painting with light images I decided that I didn't want to produce a scene. after playing around with different lights and effects I discovered that I could produce some good quality abstract images using the painting with light technique. After this I knew that this was the root I wanted to take. From the images above you can see me practicing using different light sources, using templates and creating different scenes.
Pixel stick
after practicing with basic light effects I went on to use a pixel stick to create some amazing abstract effects. although this was the root I wanted to take I started to think that just the light on its own became pretty boring, so I began to practice and experiment with some different ideas.
the two images above are the too best abstract images I created and to finalize them I cropped in and adjusted some levels in Photoshop. i love the siluette effect I made and I love the bright colours and the repition of the circles.

to create this image I got a classmate to model in the dark studio where I had my camera set to a long shutter speed ( around 10 seconds ) and rested on a tri pod. I got my model to stand in a way would aloe light to be seen through under her arms while keeping a very female stance. before I clicked the shutter I had my friend stand behind the subject and start spinning the pixel stick in advanced to me pressing the shutter. after the photo was taken it was already good but definitely wasn't finished. so I placed it in photo shop and raised the contrast to create a much stronger siluette on the subject. I then adjusted the curves to changed the colours of the lights in the background. after that I adjusted the crop to create a much better effect.

Outside of school
after finishing the project in school I carried on the technique outside of school with the skills I had learned in class. both of theses were taken using a tri pod and turned out very professional in quality.
